THE STARTING POINT
Pro-grade hardware that shoppers could not find, and could not compare
KC Hardware makes pro-grade replacement hardware for doors, windows and showers: door bottom sweeps, adjustable thresholds, shower seals, sliding door tracks and rollers. Based in Canoga Park, California, it sells to contractors and homeowners who need a part that fits the first time. When ScaleA2Z took over in October 2023, the Amazon account had no catalog structure, no search-optimised content and no brand assets.
No catalog structure
About 100 listings sat as standalone ASINs. Sizes, colors and finishes were never grouped, so shoppers could not find the right fit and reviews stayed split across listings.
No SEO content or brand assets
Titles, bullets and backend terms were not written around the dimensions and fitment terms buyers search by. There were no optimised images, no A+ Content, no Brand Story and no Brand Store.
Unstructured advertising
Auto campaigns on a handful of products drove about 80% of ad revenue. Manual targeting was packed into a single ad group with 200+ keywords across mixed match types. ACoS was 45.0% in Q4 2023.
